Reigning champions Vipers Sports Club host Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) in a make or break tie, knowing that anything less than a victory over the tax collectors will put an end to their hopes of winning the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) title.
The Kitende based side who host their home games in Buikwe have had all their focus on scoring goals in their last training sessions ahead of the tie on Tuesday evening. They come into the game on the back of two goalless draws against JMC Hippos and relegation fighters Simba.
While head coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe is confident that he has never lost against URA in his coaching career, Vipers have on the other hand managed only three wins over their Tuesday opponents in all competitions.
URA will be without a suspended Samuel Ssenkoomi and Savio Kabugo who is nursing an injury. Yayo Lutimba, Elkanah Nkugwa, Jimmy Kulaba and Sulait Luyima will all not be available for selection.
The hosts are second on the log with 51 points; 4 points drift of title favourites KCCA FC while Kefa Kisala’s side are sixth with 43 points.
Elsewhere, Lweza FC will also be in for a make or break tie when they visit already relegated side Sports Club Victoria University (SC VU) at Namboole Stadium in their relegation fight. The Joseph Mutyaba-coached side will be hoping to capitalize on the fact that Victoria University have lost their last 9 league games to condemn them to 10th loss in a bid to ensure safety.
Lweza are 13th on the log with 31 points and face a huge threat from a 14th-placed Simba Sports Club who have 26 points. If the former lose their last two games and the army side win all their last games, Lweza will be relegated.
