You might be like blabbermouth Geet of ‘Jab We Met’ who shoots her mouth off without thinking twice, or someone like gullible Dimple of ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ who gets attached too fast and too easily. While you can get away with this eccentric behaviour with your friends and family, you need to tread carefully when you’re meeting new people, especially potential partners. Here are a few questions you should never ask on the first few dates.
How much money do you make?
Nobody likes a gold digger. If you ask this question on a first date, the guy will automatically assume that you’re simply after his money. Expect this question to be overlooked only if you have the legs of a supermodel and the face of a movie star… now do you?
How many relationships have you had?
Remember the time when your mother spoke to you about sex? And how awkward you felt, not to mention embarrassed? Well, you’ll be subjecting your date through similar torture. So unless you’re a sadist, don’t ask this question.
When are you planning to get married?
This question usually lingers on most women’s minds, especially if they’re going to hit 30 soon. Just keep your keenness on settling down to yourself ‘coz you’re not going to get any brownie points for asking this question. In fact, you might scare the guy off so much that he will never call you again.
Are you still in touch with your ex?
The probable answer you’ll get to this question is, “Get a life and mind your own business.” Probably not out loud but definitely in your date’s head. If the relationship does move forward, then there will come a time when that person will automatically tell you about these things. So don’t prod.
Where do you think this relationship is going?
Before you plan to ask this question just stop by at the pet store and buy a few cats ‘coz you’re going to spend the rest of your life with them. You’ve just started dating, so relax. Let the relationship take its natural course.
