Fifi Da Queen weighed in on a debate about two of Uganda’s biggest female stars—Cindy Sanyu and Rema Namakula, saying Rema is a better artist.
Fifi was quick to recognize Cindy’s undeniable skill as a live performer. She applauded Cindy’s ability to deliver captivating performances, often covering songs by other artistes with remarkable ease.
However, despite Cindy’s stage prowess, Fifi believes that a number of female artistes could easily outshine her in live shows.
Leading this list, according to Fifi, is none other than Rema Namakula. Fifi praised Rema’s impressive catalog of hit songs, which she believes gives her an upper hand in live performances.

“Rema can effortlessly keep an audience engaged with her back-to-back hits,” Fifi said. She emphasized that Rema’s ability to entertain a crowd with her original songs makes her a tough competitor.
On the other hand, Fifi pointed out a challenge Cindy faces—although she has released many songs, not all resonate strongly with her fans. As a result, Cindy often resorts to covering songs by other artistes during her performances.
Fifi stressed that this dependence on covers could be seen as a weakness, especially when compared to Rema, who has a broad collection of hit songs to pull from during live shows.
In Fifi’s view, if the two stars were to engage in a live performance battle focused solely on original music, Rema would have the upper hand. With a larger number of hits under her belt, Rema’s ability to deliver back-to-back performances of her own material would give her a significant advantage over Cindy.
