The family of the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi has released the funeral program following a mix-up of theories regarding his funeral wishes.
His son, Tamale Mirundi Junior, announced the details on social media on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The main vigil will begin today at the Kyengera residence of Mirundi’s second wife, located near Watoto Church – Kyengera branch.
The body will be collected from the funeral home on Thursday, August 15, and transported to Bunamwaya Catholic Church for a service at 9:30 A.M.
On Friday, August 16, a mass will be held at the Kyengera home.
The funeral procession will proceed to his ancestral village in Kalagala, Kaliisizo, Rakai District, on Saturday, August 17, with a final mass scheduled for 9:00 A.M.
Joseph Tamale Mirundi will be laid to rest on Sunday, August 18.
Mirundi, a former presidential press secretary and media advisor, passed away on Tuesday night at Kisubi Hospital in Kampala.
He was 59 years old and had been receiving treatment for lung-related complications for over a month.
His death has elicited widespread grief, reflecting his significant impact on Uganda’s current affairs and media landscape.
