The entertainment fraternity woke up to very sad news this morning announcing the death of Godfrey Male, a photo journalist working with Red Pepper.
According to reports, Male passed on in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at Mulago referral hospital where he had been admitted for almost a month.
Male had served the tabloid for several years now covering the Showbiz industry including music concerts among other social events.
His former workmates described the deceased as humble and passionate about his work as several individuals continue to send out their condolence messages.
One of his former workmates, Mr. Innocent Nahabwe, the director Galaxy FM and proprietor of Club Amnesia reacted to the news saying; “My former workmate Male is dead. Having replaced me on the society desk as it’s lensman, he ensured pictures of revelers continued to be taken, with or without their permission. The images you saw would have only been seen by him had he not captured them.
Thanks to all those who contributed to his treatment. Those who didn’t yet they could, don’t weep 2much. RIP MALE”
Musician Big Trill also had this to say; “RIP Godfrey Male ..You were the true and only defintion of paparazzi in Uganda and yet very understanding! ..I know youre in heaven right now so in the meantime snap those Angels till they regret why they took you way too early from Us …Never to be forgotten …RIP #CameraLegend”
Radio personality and city emcee Dave Dash also added his voice saying; “A good and humble friend Male Godfrey it was good knowing you the little times we met actually countless times shared some smiles Redpepper has lost an eye close to the eagle itself. RIP MY BROTHER”
