Renowned Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo has revealed that he does not fast during Ramadan because of health reasons.
Speaking openly, Kenzo explained that he has been unable to observe the fasting tradition due to ulcers.
“For me, I always talk the truth. I don’t fast because of ulcers. I have taken long without fasting because of that. But what I do is that I often help people to break their fast,” Kenzo shared.
“I thank everyone who fasts. But I wish I also could,” Eddy Kenzo added.
Kenzo’s statement comes shortly after fellow Muslim artist Bebe Cool also disclosed that he has ulcers, which prevent him from fasting during Ramadan.
Ramadan for the year 2025 began on the evening of Friday, February 28, and will last for 30 days, ending at sundown on Saturday, March 29.
The holy month is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection. According to Islamic tradition, Ramadan starts and ends at sundown, following the lunar Islamic calendar.
Despite his inability to fast, Eddy Kenzo continues to support the Muslim community by contributing to Iftar meals and other charitable activities during this sacred period.
