Media consultant Joel Isabirye has spoken out on Eddy Kenzo’s BET award. He airs out his opinion on whether Eddy Kenzo deserved to win. He posted:
“the debate on eddy kenzo winning the bet has three positions.the first (which i heard fat boy talk about) is that the award was because of the kids in kenzo’s video who were supposed to receive the award because it is them that made the video tick.the second is that kenzo practically mobilized people to vote and the award should be watered down because a serious panel did not make the decision.the third is the position that kenzo actually is just lucky and cannot sing (and this is the last we may see from him).i heard this on one of the radio stations below 90FM.first-the owner of the video was kenzo.he conceived the concept of the kids.if they were meant to do this they would have filmed their own video.so bet was right to give the video owner the award.dance is not new to kenzo.he has always used dance as part of his music agenda.second there is no problem mobilizing people to vote for you because it is allowed.if it wasn’t bet would have put a global group to monitor it as a malpractice.we should not blame someone who passed an exam for reading too hard.it is not a contest of how brilliant one is.it is a contest of who passed the exam.i actually think a collation of viewers sometimes is a bigger achievement than a panel of experts.lastly kenzo has been underrated since he released ‘stamina.’many thought he would never go beyond ‘stamina.but year after year he has managed to deliver something for his fans.’the eddy kenzo act has always included dance.’stamina’ was really pushed by the dance moves it brought as well.so the matter of the kids dance is not new to kenzo.on kenzo not knowing how to sing,i don’t think kenzo is trying to win a contest of symphonic orchestras.he is trying to do music for his fans.as long as he is trying to please his fans whichever way he sings will be a matter for the fans to applaud or downplay.finally…no one will change this achievement.congratulations kenzo.”
