Eddy Kenzo recently opened up about the birthday celebration he organized for his daughter, Maya Mirembe, which sparked widespread attention on social media.

The event, attended by both Kenzo’s current partner, Phiona Nyamutoro, and his ex-partner, singer Rema Namakula, along with her husband, Dr. Hamza Ssebunya, and their daughter, Amaal, showcased an extraordinary moment of family unity.

The presence of the two families together at Maya’s birthday party drew positive reactions from fans, who praised both couples for their level-headedness and maturity in handling their blended family dynamics.

Photos of the event flooded social media, with netizens applauding the gesture as a remarkable display of respect and co-parenting.

Speaking publicly about the gathering for the first time, Kenzo explained that inviting Rema and her family was a natural choice, as they are still very much part of Maya’s life.

“It was a birthday, and we called the family (of Maya), and when you call the family, they all have to be there,” Kenzo said. He emphasized the deep bond that connects Maya and Amaal as siblings, further highlighting the importance of unity.

Kenzo noted that his decision to include everyone was driven by his desire to lead by example, showing that life doesn’t always have to revolve around conflicts.

“It is humanity, and that is how life is supposed to be,” he said during an interview with Noordeen Ntege, expressing the significance of harmony within families.
