The home of the late singer and actress Evelyn Lagu has been demolished, leaving her only son, Fred Kasavu, homeless.
The tragic event occurred while Fred was in rehabilitation, receiving treatment for mental health issues.
Fred checked into rehabilitation in February of this year, grappling with trauma stemming from his mother’s illness and death. Despite rumors, his struggles were not drug-related but rather linked to the emotional toll of his mother’s battle with illness and her eventual passing.
Evelyn Lagu had worked tirelessly to ensure her son had a home, knowing he was her only surviving child.

However, Fred returned to find that her hard-earned legacy had been destroyed. “When I went back home, I found that they had taken over the rear part of our house, the well, and the water tank. Everything was destroyed. I think they had planned it all out,” Fred explained.
The police have launched an investigation into the demolition and theft, as Fred holds documents proving ownership of the land and house. Despite this, no arrests have been made, and those responsible remain at large.
Fred expressed frustration, saying, “We are currently looking for the person responsible. My mother worked so hard to leave something behind, and now it’s all gone.”
