Ugandan siblings and singing duo, Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira have revealed that they have never received the full prize money for winning the East Africa’s Got Talent competition.
Esther and Ezekiel emerged as the winners of the East Africa’s Got Talent’s 2019 edition held in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.
The youthful singing duo was meant to walk home with a cash prize of $50,000 after beating five other contestants in the final to emerge winners.
However, Esther and Ezekiel revealed that they only received half of the prize. This was during their virtual interview on NBS TV ‘After5’ show.
“We only received half of the East Africa’s Got Talent’s prize that we were supposed to get,” Esther & Ezekiel said.
Esther and Ezekiel gave judges, crowd, and virtual viewers goosebumps with an electrifying performance.
These left majority suggesting that the young duo was worth a Golden Buzzer.
Esther (14) and Ezekiel (11) are children of Ugandan gospel singer Julie Mutesasira and Pastor Steven Mutesasira who bitterly divorced in 2016.
They are currently living in Canada together with their mother.
We will keep you posted.
