Milutin Sedrojevic aka ‘Micho’ is a renowned football icon in the history of African football, no wonder many clubs and countries around the continent wouldn’t think twice about deploying him as their head coach.
On May 21st, 2013, the Serbian international was named Uganda Cranes head coach by former FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa as a replacement for the Scottish Bobby Williamson who later moved on to Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia before being appointed as head coach of the Harambe Stars (Kenyan National Team).
Micho is a hero in the records of the Uganda Premier League after winning three league titles with the 16-time record champions SC Villa from 2001-2004 when he first arrived in the country.
He later moved on to join Ethiopia’s St George where he also won the league title in 2004-2006 before joining South Africa’s Orlando Pirates whom he guided to the semi-finals of the African Champions League in 2006.
After helping Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman reach the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF champions in 2010-2011, Micho left for Rwanda where he became the head coach of the Amavubi Stars (Rwanda National Team) until 2013 when returned to Uganda for the Cranes.
His current contract with the Uganda Cranes expires within a period of two months but the federation has not come out to say anything about contract and the Serbian’s future on the national team. The status of his contract has put him on the trail of Sudanese giants, Al Hilal Football Club.
