A collection of home based players will regroup this week on Friday to prepare for their return leg against Tanzania in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) that is due 4th July at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Uganda Cranes had no kind words when they paid a visit to the Taifa Stars at Amman Stadium in Zanzibar. Uganda condemned Tanzania to a 3-0 defeat thanks to a brace from Erisa Sekisambu and a late penalty by Farouk Miya.

National team head coach, Milutin Micho Sredojovic revealed the delay for the team to regroup was due to the need for players to have some rest after their constant recent action against Rwanda for the U-23 in the Africa U-23 championship qualifiers, against Gambia for a friendly and Botswana in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers for the senior team before they traveled to Tanzania.
The training will also include the Uganda U-23 team that will be also preparing for a game against Egypt on 18th July in either Cairo or Alexandria.
“We need not to relax after a win against Tanzania in Ammani stadium, It’s just the first half of the game which is not yet done,” Micho said.
