Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi has granted bail of UGX 2M to Ibrahim Musana, famously known as Pressure 24/7 on TikTok. Musana had been detained in Luzira Prison for over 60 days without trial.

Pressure 24/7

The controversial social media personality is accused of verbally abusing President Museveni, Buganda King Ronald Mutebi, and several other high-profile officials. The allegations against him sparked significant debate regarding freedom of speech and expression in Uganda.

Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi made the decision to grant bail after considering Musana’s prolonged detention without trial. The bail amount of UGX 2M was set as a condition for his release.

Musana’s case has attracted widespread attention on social media platforms and among human rights advocates, who have expressed concerns about the handling of his detention and the implications for freedom of expression in the country.

Following his release on bail, Musana is expected to adhere to the conditions set by the court and cooperate with the ongoing legal proceedings.
