Musicians Chameleone, Radio and Weasel have their gods to thank after they survived a severe beating last Friday. Fracas ensued when the trio refused to perform at an event that was organized by former Club Venom manager, Gareth Onyango who insisted that he had already paid them.
According to the singers, there was too much rain on Friday at Cayenne that forced them to distance themselves from the microphone and loud music to protect their lives.
Chameleone who at one time held a concert in the rain and sang his heart out as fans danced crazy in the rain claimed that the storm on Friday evening was very dangerous for him to perform in.
“He said that the mic was connected to electricity and since there was a heavy downpour it was dangerous for him to sing or risk being struck by lightning,” said one of our sources at the party.
Radio and Weasel followed suit amidst jeers and fracas from fans who demanded that the artistes perform or they get compensation. Fans hurled insults at the trio as police swung into action to protect them. They were shielded all the way to the parking lot where they got into their cars and left. The artistes promised Gareth a refund.
We will keep you posted.
