Coach of Kenyan league champions Gor Mahia FC, Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson, has called upon his main striker Daniel Sserunkuma to become sharper in front of goal.
The Scot said the Uganda Cranes striker should work hard to score more goals. Sserunkuma, who was the Tusker League MVP in the 2012-2013 season, scored the only goal in Gor Mahia’s 1-0 win over Gabon’s US Bitam in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round last weekend in Nairobi.
The Kenyan champions will travel to Libreville today (Thursday) ahead of the return leg clash on Saturday. Three other Ugandan players, Israel Emuge, Godfrey Walusimbi and Godfrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, are also on the team traveling to Gabon.
Gor Mahia will be hoping that they qualify for the next round of the lucrative tournament. Last year they bowed out of the CAF Confederations Cup 3-0 on goal aggregate to Egyptian side ENNPI. They lost the first leg 3-0 in Cairo, before battling for a goalless draw in Nairobi.
