Musician Bebe Cool has been very vocal online. When he made a post about how he doesn’t give a damn what people say about him, even if they decide to boycott his shows for his part in the Tubonga Nawe project, Bebe Cool made some fatal math error getting fans to roast him on Facebook.
“In simple mathematics, 20,000 people paying 20k Ugsh for a concert is 400,000,000m. To organize such an event you need at least not less than 200m hence saving 200m for a nun TUBONGA NAWE artist. And it’s an outdoor event that has no weather guarantee. On the other hand Let’s say 19000 boycott my concert, my organizing budget will be half, I will go indoor n be sure about the weather and for an indoor event, before it starts, you already know whose coming, I will charge higher coz my musical status has both high end fans and low end fans. One table will go for 5m and I will only need to sell 100 tables each of 10 people sitting but 5m multiplied by 100 tables equals 500,000m. Minus expenses of 100m I save 400,000,000m,” he told off fans who want to boycott his concert.
“The boycott will also help the music industry to evolve to the next level where I want to only perform once or twice a year but make big money to last me thru out and this will increase the demand for any artist hence raise the pay for musicians in general after all people have been complaining that Ugandan musicians perform everywhere all the time hence loss of value. I also wish to remind my fellow Ugandans that you can’t say no to good music, when supporting us u didn’t do us no favor you were consuming our good product to make matters worse not even paying for it,” he added.
Shortly after the post, fans reacted by thrashing Bebe Cool for his poor maths skills.
Nsamba Jonathan said, “Bebe Cool at your status you can afford someone to manage your Facebook page.Look at your Math and figures-what the hell is 400,000m,500,000m?? Are you referring to metres, millimeters, miles or?? Your arrogance has even blinded your little P.1 Math!!”
Sean Wallace Broda added, “Your mathematics would have helped more if u used it not only to solve your own selfish interests but also for the betterment of the other people. You once sang a song, “Kawuna” you pointed out the wickedness of nepotism dominating our country, by that we all thought as a once denied son of a minister had come into his normal sense to highlight what was going wrong in the country, but then when I see you now ‘puking’ on Media that way, it reminds me of the latter, Never trust a son who fights against his own father from becoming a president while fighting hard to make sure another person’s father becomes a president.”
We will keep you posted.
