Bebe Cool has shared details about his upbringing in Kasese district, debunking common assumptions that he spent his childhood in the urban areas of Kampala.
Speaking at the World Tourism Day launch, Bebe Cool recalled his time in Kasese, revealing how this experience shaped his understanding of the region.
“I grew up in Kasese. I was there for about 3 years between the age of 9 and 12. So I know the place well,” he said.

Bebe Cool explained that he lived in Kasese because his stepfather worked there. He stayed near the mines and often traveled by train, an experience that gave him unique insights into the region’s lifestyle and culture.
His statement caught many off guard, as few knew about his connection to Kasese.
