One thing about Ugandan women is that they will stand by their men even when things are out of hand. Testament to this is the way in which Titie handled hubby Katongole’s crisis recently when he was accused of defilement and arrested. Instead of shunning the man, she was at the forefront of helping him out of the dungeons.
This is not any different with Barbie, wife to Bobi Wine. The two who met during their time at University and fell in love at National Theatre in Kampala before getting kids and consequently walking down the aisle together are inseparable. They will stand by eachother in the harshest of conditions. This has been exhibited several times. Once when Barbies parents wanted their daughter to leave Bobi because of his love for Ganja. “They called him a muyaye who couldn’t stay with their daughter. Some of her relatives never talk to her till this day. But she stood by him for the sake of their love,” says a family source.
Barbie has done it again, in the middle of accusations that Bobi fathered a child outside wedlock, his wife Barbie has stayed strong for him and supported him all through despite judgment from the public. “She has refused to comment about it publicly although Safina, the woman who claims to have had a child with Bobi keeps attacking her hubby publicly. She is determined to put their behind their relationship,” the family source added.
According to Bobi, the son is not his. “His mother is using the little boy to destabilize my family. I told her to bring him to our home in Magere to mix with other kids but she kept playing hide and seek. This drama has to end. This is the same lady who nearly messed up my wedding,” Bobi said.
The singer who came out to clear the air about the whole Safina saga, said that he is ready to fight anyone who threatens his family since he is in love with his wife Barbie and will not allow anyone to break them. Bobi hopes that things get back to normal again. “It has never been my style putting my personal/family matters in the media and it’s not going to start now. I believe not everything is for media attention, especially where there are young innocent souls involved,” he said.
Safina says that she will not give up the rights of her child. “I met Bobi in the UK and no one was there to know what we agreed upon. What goes on in the lives of two people is their secret,” she said.
We will keep you posted.
