Barbie Kyagulanyi, the wife of singer and politician Bobi Wine, revealed of the wealth they had accumulated even before tying the knot.
The couple met during the Christmas season of 2001 at a stage play at the National Theater. Since then, they have become one of the most influential couples in Uganda’s entertainment.
“We built all this when we were not wedded,” she stated, highlighting that they purchased key properties like the headquarters of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Busabala beach, and their residence in Magere before their marriage.
According to Barbie, the couple believed it was wiser to invest their money in tangible assets rather than spending it on a lavish wedding.
Barbie emphasized that their friendship and shared goals made it easy to invest every coin they earned into their future.
She pointed out that they were aware of the fleeting nature of the music industry in Uganda and wanted to ensure their financial stability.
