AUMEX (Amplify Uganda Music Expo) hosted a vibrant masterclass at MOTIV, drawing a diverse group of young artists, managers, creative entrepreneurs, and producers. Titled “Beyond Streaming: Diversifying Revenue Streams for Financial Sustainability,” the three-hour session provided attendees with invaluable tools to better manage their finances, navigate irregular income streams, and develop strategies for long-term financial success in the music industry. Key topics included the importance of tracking both personal and business income and expenses, along with practical advice on managing cash flow during low-income periods through emergency funds and seasonal budgeting.

The masterclass featured an impressive lineup of industry experts, each bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table. Afsa Umutesi, the Creative Producer and Founder of CloneMe Studios, moderated the event with her extensive background in film production and large-scale event management, including Malembe Lifestyle and Kampala’s popular Blankets & Wine festival. Joining her was Susan Nava, a Business Strategist and Industry Expert with a diverse career spanning TV hosting, advertising, and leadership roles across various industries. As the founder of Beyond Impala Avenue and a Director at Nzuri Group, Susan provided invaluable insights on business strategy and navigating challenges in the creative sector. Wonder JR, a multi-talented artist, actor, and mental wellness advocate, brought his unique perspective on blending entertainment with education, sharing authentic stories that resonate with audiences across all social classes. Ronald Mukasa Senkubuge, a Financial Literacy Coach and Business Development Expert, rounded out the panel, offering critical advice on financial management.

The AUMEX 2024 Conference on November 22 & 23 will bring together Uganda and Africa’s top music professionals for two days of panel discussions, live performances, and networking. The event promises to create a dynamic environment where up-and-coming artists can connect with established figures in the industry from Sony Music, Boomplay, The Orchard, Sheer Publishing and Mdundo opening doors to collaborations and future opportunities.

At its core, AUMEX is about more than just creating a platform, it’s a movement dedicated to fostering long-term success and empowering Uganda’s music community. As AUMEX lights the way for the next generation of Ugandan music stars, it invites artists, managers, and music enthusiasts to join this revolutionary movement.

AUMEX is where talent meets opportunity, and it marks the beginning of a bright future for Uganda’s music industry.
