Tusker midfield kingpin Khalid Aucho has expressed his joy after he was included in the Uganda Cranes final squad for the 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

The player was in fine form for the Brewers throughout the season despite the club’s failure to defend its Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title and he says representing his country in the annual tournament is a milestone in his career.

“I’m very happy to have made it to the squad to represent Uganda during this year’s edition of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup,” Aucho said.

“I have worked hard this season and the call up proves it. It has always been my dream to play for Cranes and now that I have been called up I hope to be remain consistent in the team,” he added.

“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”

Uganda Cranes is in Group C alongside Rwanda, Eritrea and Sudan and Aucho says it’s a tough group.

“It’s not an easy group and we’ll have to work our socks off to go past the group stage. Our aim is to defend the title and I hope we achieve that,” he said.

Cranes will open its campaign against Rwanda on Friday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
