Anne Kansiime cries on Leila Kayondo’s behalf

Domestic violence is real in Uganda and celebrities are not alien to this bad practice. The latest incident has been that of Leila Kayondo who was allegedly battered by her ex-lover SK Mbuga over property.

Leila reported to fans and the Police last evening using Social Media where she said “I need help, SK Mbuga has beaten me. I call upon Gen. Kale Kayihura to help me.”

Comedian Anne Kansiime has come out to cry for Leila’s rights to be upheld. She condemned domestic violence and stood with her fellow woman and celebrity, Leila in a statement released online.

“By the time a public figure or celebrity like Leila Kayondo is beaten and battered and cannot get help from the police, we can only imagine how many other women are suffering silently because of police negligence, corruption and absolute and utter indifference,” Kansiime said.
