It was last week when news surfaced the internet indicating that Firebase Crew singer Tadeo Mayega aka Zex Bilangilangi had been arrested by Police.
This sparked wild anxiety from his fans, friends and family as everyone demanding to know details regarding Zex’s detention.
In a phone call interview with the Uganda Police Police publicist, ASP Luke Owoyesigire narrates grounds behind the “Magazine” crooner’s was imprisonment last Friday.
ASP Luke Owoyesigire reveals that Zex Bilangilangi was arrested on charges of beating and threatening life of a one, Mr. Andrew Mukiibi.
“Its true, Zex was with us at Jinja Road Police Station following his arrest. He is alleged to have threatened and beaten-up Mr. Mukiibi Andrew. He was being investigated on charges of beating and threatening him,” ASP Luke Owoyesigire said.
However, he notes that the Geng Geng CEO was later released on Police bond after requesting the authorities to let him perform on a certain show in Kyambogo.
“He was released on bond on grounds of needing to perform at Kyambogo.”
The Police spokesperson also confirms Zex’s criminal file being tabled before the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) as further investigations.
“His file has been forwarded to the DPP as more investigations are carried on,” he added.
