Renowned Ugandan music producer Mukisa Erisa, known as Skillz On Da Beat, has passed away at the age of 30.
He died on Wednesday morning from a blood clot in his lungs after collapsing and being rushed to Kiruddu Hospital.
Before arriving at Kiruddu, Skillz was taken to Mengo Hospital. However, he could not receive treatment there due to missing medical requirements.
Close friend and fellow musician Dokta Brain shared that Skillz had recently recovered from malaria before his sudden decline in health.
Last year, reports surfaced about Skillz’s struggles with drug addiction, which stemmed from personal challenges and depression.
His body has been transported to his ancestral home in the Busoga region for burial.
Skillz On Da Beat was known for producing several popular tracks, including “Love Doctor” by Vinka, “Overdose” by Kent & Flosso (Voltage Music) featuring Vinka, and “Akatijjo” by Fille & Babarita, among others.
His contributions to the Ugandan music industry will be remembered by many.
