Comedy is another rapidly evolving field in entertainment. In the last two week of July, Kampala alone has had upto 5 live comedy shows and all had an audience full to the brim. Nseko Buseko, Silent Comedy, Rock Wednesday, Just Comedy and Comedy Store all had venues full in the last two weeks.

A keen comedy lover and observant must have already learnt that comedy in Kampala has it’s warmest reception ever in Uganda but we go back to the genesis of this massive treck.

Long before comedy got serious in Kampala, Alex Muhangi started Comedy Store, a weekly comedy show that many thought was a crazy idea to invite people to comedy every week. Comedy Store has over the years stood, proved and given comedians the confidence that they are loved.

All other comedy shows that come after get the courage and inspiration from the existance of Comedy Store.

Do you think Comedy is taking over Music in Uganda?
