Airtel Uganda has continued its Happiness Campaign through touching the lives of different Ugandans countrywide. Recently, Airtel Uganda held a community health fair in Arua district in northern Uganda.
Stationed at Ezuko Primary School, airtel Uganda invited residents of Vurra Sub County and surrounding areas to attend a free community health fair which went on from 8:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday 31st January 2015.
Airtel Uganda partnered with Hind’s Feet Project, Arua Referral Hospital, Red Cross and they offered free medical services to over 1,000 people. The medical services offered included; Hepatitis B screening and shots, Dental, eye checkups and general medicine, Screening for HIV, diabetes, ulcers, blood pressure, syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases such as Hepatitis B, Screening and tests for malaria and cervical cancer, Safe male circumcision, Nutritional consultations, Consultations on disease prevention and management, Onsite treatment for common illnesses.
Speaking during the community health fair, Airtel Uganda Public Relations Manager, Mr. Sandor Walusimbisaid; “As we continue the happiness with airtel in 2015, we are always proud to be associated with the communities we serve. It is gratifying to see over 1,000 people come in to get access to free medical checkup treatment, counseling and referrals. Working closely with Hinds feet, Airtel will continue to go and reach out to other communities in Uganda.”
“It is by taking part in initiatives which directly impact our consumers’ lives that Airtel will achieve the vision of becoming the most loved brand in the daily lives of Ugandans,” he added.
This is the second community health fair that airtel Uganda is holding in a period of three months. The last health fair was held in Kabale district in Western Uganda. Airtel Uganda promised to continue holding such health fairs throughout the country.
