Legendary musician Joanita Kawaalya has opened up about her ambitions to join active politics.
According to our sources, Joanita recently revealed interest in contesting for the post of Woman Member of Parliament for Wakiso district after she submitted her papers for review.
The Jim Wange singer will be facing stiff competition from the incumbent NRM’s Rosemary Seninde in the coming 2016 general elections after being passed by the district electoral commission committee.
Joanita is well known as one of the most respected and long serving artistes in Uganda’s oldest band, Afrigo band and will be joining the likes of gospel singer Judith Babirye who will also be contesting for Woman Member of Parliament for Buikwe district.
