Gagamel boss, Bebe Cool will join a star-stubbed cast of African singers tonight for the “Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home” which is being held in celebration of Africa Day.
Organised by YouTube & ViacomCBS Networks Africa, it will be a 2-hour special that will broadcast to millions of viewers in Africa and around the world on MTV and BET at 10pm EAT.
The two-hour special aims to not only entertain viewers at home but also to raise funds that will support food and health needs for children and families in Africa affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. All funds raised from the concert will be donated to UNICEF and The World Food Programme.
“We are excited to celebrate Africa month as a continent, and there is no better way to celebrate our beautiful and vibrant continent than with music, the one universal language. Viewers can enjoy their favourite artist in the comfort of their home.” Says Multichoice Uganda GM, Hassan Saleh.
Bebe Cool will perform alongside top from African stars including Salif Keita, Angelique Kidjo, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ismael Lo Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido, AKA and Tiwa Savage among others.
The concert will be hosted by Hollywood superstar Idris Elba.
African day is an annual commemoration of the founding of the Organization of Africa Unity (OAU) in 1963, which presently recognized as the African Union (AU) comprising of 54 member states.
