A Pass has accused veteran music producer Washington of conning him out of his hard-earned income. This allegation underscores the numerous challenges faced by upcoming musicians in the industry, particularly from those they look up to for guidance and support.

A Pass detailed the incident, which occurred in 2007 when he approached Washington with Shs 250,000, intending to record a song.

Despite receiving the money, Washington allegedly failed to deliver the promised recording. At the time, Washington was living with the Goodlyfe crew in Nyanama, who had not yet risen to their eventual superstardom.

In the mid-2000s, Washington was one of the most prominent producers in Uganda. He was responsible for numerous hit songs, including the East African Bashment Crew’s award-winning “Fire Anthem” and several tracks for Bebe Cool. After parting ways with Cool and collaborating with Goodlyfe, Washington produced some of the most significant hits of his career.

For A Pass, the breakthrough came seven years later with his 2014 hit “I’m Loving,” featuring Don MC and Cindy. This song marked the beginning of his rise to fame.
