The national search for Mirinda Miss Teen kicks off officially on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School.

Mirinda Miss Teen is an annual talent contest that aims at showcasing the great talents and characters of today’s teenage girls. The Mirinda Miss Teen Season 5 search, themed Selfie Edition, will have teenage girls battle it out once again for the coveted Miss Teen, Miss Ambitious and Miss Play hard titles.

Last year, Vanessa Nansove, 16, of St. Joseph’s Girls SS Nsambya, took the crown and Shs2.5 million worth of school fees, a package that will once again be awarded to the winners of this year’s edition.

According to Mr Jeff Sekandi, the acting head of Marketing at Crown Beverages Limited, Mirinda through its Miss Teen competition will be searching for girls between the age of 15 and 18 who are in school, and have a representable personality.

“They should be girls who show boldness, fun, trendy, and responsible enough to represent brand Mirinda. We therefore call upon all teenage girls who are interested to participate, all of them stand a chance to be crowned,” said Sekandi.

During her reign, Vanessa did charity, including a visit to the Missionaries of the poor and orphanage home, among others.

She thanked Mirinda for the opportunity, and wished the next Mirinda Miss Teen all the best. “I have enjoyed my time as Mirinda Miss Teen and I shall always be grateful. I wish the next Mirinda Miss Teen the best and I will also take this opportunity to encourage girls to stay in school,” she said.
