On Friday the 4th of October, Nile Gold Jazz and safari was holding its concert for the 6th time in Uganda and it was graced by several performers who included the American Legend Keith Sweat who pulled off an amazing performance. The show was in Victoria auditorium in Serena Hotel Kampala.

The night was embraced more rich talent from the jazz and funk world. Prolific saxophonist Tom Braxton, ingenious trumpet player Michael ‘Patches’ Stewart, passionate drummer John Blackwell and guitar maestro Charlie Singleton all on a single stage. The night of happiness was Emceed by the KFM mighty breakfast Roger Mugisha who also did his best.

Keith Sweat as he performed uttered these words: “I have been on tour and have already done 12 concerts, in Germany and other parts of the world. I could have rested but I came here to perform in Uganda because they told me Uganda is fine,” before going on to perform the hit ‘Make it Last Forever’.

It was not any different for his back-up vocalist Glenn Calandra who proved her vocal sprightliness and abilities. “Are you guys having fun?” he paused questions to the masses in between his performance.

He also confessed saying “I love you Uganda. I am definitely coming back here.”

Navio later joined the legend on stage to wrap up the night as he gave thanks to the Emcee of the night for the job well done.

At the age of 52, someone can still confess that Keith Sweat still has it, the allure, poise and youthful energy.
