As Ugandans draw nigh to 51st independence celebrations, Federation of Motor Sport Uganda (FMS) held a rally over the weekend in Mukono which had several Motor Sport participants as they usher in the independence happening this Wednesday, the 09th of October.
With giants, Ponsiano Lwakataka and Super lady Suzan Muwonge dropping out of the rally, the competition was quite not stiff. This made it easier for National Rally champion, Jas Mangat to mantain the top position in this year’s Africa Rally Championship as a national rally Champion after winning the Independence rally race.
Jas Mangat emerged the first in the rally posting a spectacular 1:31.41 time in a race where John Consta made a commendable effort to challenge Mangat taking the opening two sections on Sunday but was later side-lined with mechanical failure.
The results were as follows from the bottom. Wilber Pole Pole finished in 2:12:17 and he followed Mansur Lubega who finished in a time span of 1:54.29 following Edson Mungyereza 1:52.29 then Ismail Otega 1:52.05, Leila Blick 1:48.48, Jonas Kansiime 1:41: 10, Satvinder Singh 1:40.22, Geoffrey Kiyaga 1:36.18 and then finally Jas Mangat who ermerged the winner finishing in the shortest time of 1:31:4.
