Upcoming artiste Adam Mulwana, who sang Besigye’s hit Toka Kwabarabara campaign song that was used on the FDC campaign trail has revealed why he did the song and his experience with his new celebrity status.
Adam who is 29 years old said that he didn’t do the song after any special request but out of his own volition.
“I was not asked by anyone to do the song. It was my own idea and I penned it down and sang it. I was even invited to be part of the Tubonga Nawe project and I refused. Yes, it was not a big invitation like the other artistes but I am glad I put my message across without being part of them,” he said.
The singer said that he looked at the cries of the people who were calling for change and derived inspiration to pen down a song that would later change his life.
After doing the song, he got a call from FDC’s Ingrid who asked to meet him and have his song used. He was told that he wouldn’t get much from it but all the same he took on the offer.
“I was called by Igrid and I joined the FDC rallies. She, however, warned me that I wouldn’t get much out of this and that it was not a job or project but I went because I did this for the love of change and Besigye,” Adam added.
“No one paid me for the song. But I was accommodated at all rallies and made comfortable. I have managed to get new and better friends that I didn’t have in the past and now everyone likes me. It has changed my life,” he concluded.
