Yesterday  morning Uganda Cranes head, Milutin Micho Sredojevic named a final 20-man squad at the African Bible University in Lubowa, just hours before the team left for Entebbe and eventually off to Addis- Ababa a few minutes to 1:00pm aboard Ethiopian Airlines.

At the same time Micho named Vipers player maker Farouk Miya as the team captain to lead the lads into the 2015 CECAF Senior Challenge.

Miya is also the Under-23 National team (Uganda Kobs) Captain and also skippered the CHAN team during ties with Sudan after Ssentongo had been expelled from the Cranes camp.

He will be deputized by KCCA FC’s Joseph Ochaya and his teammate Ivan Ntege.
Surprising among those dropped from the travelling contingent was Uganda Revenue Authority SC striker Robert Ssentongo, whose passport is said to have been expired.

The other key player left behind was Brian Umony (was part of the team that ejected Togo out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers last weekend at Namboole) for unknown reasons.

The Cranes open up their campaign against neighbours and reigning champions of Kenya on Sunday.
