Ivan Byekwaso who won the International Natural Body Building World Cup in San Diego, California, recently returned yesterday, Wednesday, 18th November to a hero’s welcome. He was received by an ecstatic crowd at the airport which escorted him in a convoy, as he drove through town. He was later officially welcomed at a cocktail dinner held at Imperial Royale hotel where fans and well-wishers were waiting in anticipation.

“God is great. It was not easy but God is always on my side; I won my category (short men 175cm), a gold medal and the overall trophy,” said Byekwaso who beat American and Australian competitors in the final. “I hope to do the same in the Natural Olympia, so Ugandans should continue praying for me.”

According to Jackson Pemba, Chairman of Pemba Sports Africa, they are very proud of Ivan Byekwaso. “When we met, he was very confident of his potential and future, and that is something contagious. We are glad we backed him, he didn’t let us and Uganda down,” said an excited Pemba.
