URA FC’s Kefa Kisala yesterday walked off his home ground a very happy man after his side secured a second victory in a row as they edged league defending champions Vipers SC by 3-2 at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
Kisala took full charge of the club recently after the sacking of his Boss Moses Basena who failed to produce the desired results at the Lugazi based club.
After his departure, URA won their first fixture as they edged league debutants JMC Hippos by 2-1 before the international break.
Overcoming his recent heartbreak troubles was the Tax Collectors’ goal poacher, Robert Ssentogo who scored a brace to give his side a 2-1 lead at half time. Viper’s summer recruit Erisa Ssekisambu also managed to see the net twice on the opposite side in a game where player maker Farouk Miya was unable to inspire his side to another win.
Miya was later substituted for 2013/2014 season MVP Allan Kyambadde before Elukanah Nkugwa’s late strike that ended Vipers’ hopes of salvaging a point.
The result saw Vipers suffer a second successive defeat after their 3-1 loss to Police FC before the league broke off for international engagements. The reigning champions only lost one game last season which was a 2-1 defeat by a now relegated KJT Rwenshama at Nakivubo stadium.
URA now move to 6th place on the table with 15 points from 10 games while Vipers remained 2nd with 20 points from a similar number of games.
