Man loves to be called an animal. Scientist made that attempt but our general perception can’t let us be graded with organisms we domesticate and have control over their lifespan. But all the same, we love them and will continue to baptise certain things animal names.
Where there is need for great passion, they will say be an animal! Sengas will say,” Attack that bed like a tigress, tear the flesh like a starved beast!” Talent judges will shout, “Be an animal on stage, give that energy. I want to see that attitude”. Enough.
1. GOAT aka MBUZI: Long before Makerere Hill became a grazing yard, goat referred to a treasured water spring, never navigated, never drank from. Drinking from that well meant one lost the “goat” label and passed the bragging right to the drinker.
2. RAT: A hairy animal that makes noise when it gets beaten. It is more active at night than day. It loves to eat small bits at high speeds.
3. DOG: Said to be man’s best friend, the human male species has been compared to its best friend! That is the power of association.
4. CHICKS: These love to be warmed, cared for and covered when the weather changes! Their presence creates a wave of enthusiasm. They eat a little at a time and their destiny is to end on a man’s plate.
5. HYENA: A rare breed of carnivore with stained moral fibre like the spots on the wild hyena. Goat stew and rat soup is the ideal diet of a hyena. The most famous hyena is a writer who has spent his creative youth time to write different recipes of how he prepares goats, rat and chick dishes.
6. CHAMELEON: Unlike the animal Chameleon, the human one is famous and a singer however he never lost the ability to change his colours, so they say.
7. EMBATTA aka DUCK: This is offensive.
