UK based Ugandan promoter Johnson Mujungu has taken to social media to reminisce on his time in Uganda. Johnson, who manages comedians Anne Kansiime and Salvado, and musician Iryn Namubiru under his Grajoh Talent Mgt., posted on Facebook:
Uganda! I still got love, still!
So, today is exactly 24 years since I have been living outside Uganda. The day also signifies some milestone in that my years oustide Uganda exceed those inside, having left when I was about 23.
I know, its like I never left – I still got love, still!
Its a shared love with Canada and UK, my homes from home. And of course for the places between- including Swaziland, South Africa and USA where I have worked and domiciled at one point or another, also recoginizant of the many places I have visited including Malawi where my wife originates.
I think traveling has been my best education. I have seen the world through various other lenses. Not to mention the practical realization that my reality and where I live isn’t the only reality, there’s many. It’s all God’s plan that I am a world citizen.
Being abroad hasn’t made me any less Ugandan. Paradoxically, it might have made me more Ugandan. I know, its like I never left – I still got love, still!
The journey continues….
My name is Johnson Mujungu, a mukiga nomad from Kihembe village, a global child destined to influence the world.”
