As the Uganda Film festival draws nearer, the association of Uganda filmmakers and well-wishers have started a campaign to promote the festival across the country.
The association was tasked by the Uganda Communication Commission to help them spread the gospel across Uganda and in this task, the association was handed over 40 million shillings to ensure the campaign is effective.
Through the association link to UCC, filmmaker Gerald received this money and its apparently being portioned to cater for all the places they are visiting. The film makers started with Mukono and tomorrow will be advancing to Jinja and Mbale. Soon after, they will take the Masaka road, visit Masaka town, and then proceed to Lyantonde and thereafter Mbarara town.
In this bid, the association will be airing some of the short movies and trailers from different production houses at every stop center as planned. This will help to enlighten Ugandans about the film industry and making them aware of the forthcoming festival.
According to Gerald, this campaign will not only benefit Uganda Communication Commission but also the filmmakers and actors who will have a chance to reach their potential fan base.
Meanwhile a team of professional judges from South Africa, Uganda and Hollywood are undergoing previewing and nomination of films that were entered in the festival that will be held on the 30th of this month.
