At the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo, home side Kampala Capital City (KCC) thrashed Jinja based Bul f.c 3-0 giving Abdallah Mubiru his first win as head coach. His first game was against Express which ended in a goalless draw.
In the 10th minute, Mubiru had a reason to smile when Hakim Ssenkumba gave the defending champions a lead. Injury returnee Brain Majwega gave KCC the second before Derrick Nsibambi sealed the goal count at the half hour mark.
“We managed the game well. Our aim was to finish off the game early and that’s what we did,” Mubiru told the club’s official website.
The result saw the defending champions climb top of SC Villa to second place with 24 points from 11 games and just 2 points behind table leaders, Vipers.
Elsewhere, at the back of losing three in a row, Kiira Young was forced into a one-all draw by struggling Soana f.c. Unbelievable but true, Kiira young scored both goals of the game when Emmanuel Obitire gave them a lead before Ronald Lubega turned the gun into his own net to end it 1-1.
The poor result left Kiira young in the same position (13th on the table) and 4 points above relegation while Soana move top of Entebbe to 14th with 6 points from 11 games.
