Many thought that she had given up on singing after losing her one and only beloved son Keron Raphael Kabugo in July, but musician Juliana Kanyomozi has revealed that she is not about to give up on music, in fact, the ‘Kanyimbe’ singer said that she will never throw in the towel because music is her life.
In an interview with Monitor, the singer thanked fans and the media for the support that they showed her in the hardest time in her life. She praised them for helping her through the time when she buried her only son. She also noted that losing and burying a child is the hardest thing any mother can go through. She confirmed that she would return to the music industry soon.
“Burying a child is the most painful thing a mother can ever go through. It’s not something that just happens and you just get up and keep going. It’s not like that. But by the grace of God, great friends and family, I am strong and will be back anytime soon,” she said.
The songstress, who is in the US at the moment, resting and enjoying her life, said that she is currently on a break but will be back soon. Juliana was also asked about her relationship with Amon Kabugo, the father of her late son. She was quick to say that she is still mourning her son and not ready for any relationship. “As a woman and mother, it’s not easy to get over my kind of loss. The last thing on my mind right now is jumping into a relationship,” she said. “That’s not what I’m thinking about. I need time alone before I can even consider anyone.”
The Radio and Weasel fan, who is listening to a lot of music from T.I, Emilie Sande and Kendrick Lamar, said that she will make a musical comeback soon. She also rebuked people who have been saying that she has left the music industry calling their claims ridiculous. “This rumour that’s been going around that I have quit music is just ridiculous. It is not true. I just thought I would clarify on that for my fans,” Juliana Kanyomozi said.
Juliana is currently concentrating on herself and living each day as it comes. She appreciates all the support through these trying months and hopes to do other things in the near future apart from music.
