Hope event is an organization in Uganda that took an initiative of creating awareness and campaign to end child sacrifice in Uganda. Its name was derived from Hope, a child that narrowly survived being sacrificed.
Yesterday, this NGO held its first annual fundraising and awareness campaign that gathered people from all over Uganda that feel obliged to end child trafficking and sacrifice.
On this event, a documentary of a boy who survived being sacrificed was screened. The whole hall went a dead silent not until MC Isaac Rucci known for his Go lotto threw in some fun that retrieved people’s mood.
Performances came from former shadow angles dancer and now gospel artist, Morgan Isaac who made people stand on their feet because of his fun filled dances, Kyampisi children’s choir, Soul Deep, Jazz Band and Silvestre Kyagulanyi.
The day was summed up with yet another fabulous performance from Pastor Wilson Bugembe performing his latest single mpangila that forced the Guest Of Honor Ms. Amongi Betty Akena of Oyam Constituency who represented the Speaker of Parliament to get on her feet and dance.
The guest of honor walked away with a fantastic art piece that was painted by one passionate youth who felt part of this noble cause and wanted to give a hand. The two million shillings that was garnered from this piece went to Hope event’s account and will be used to spear head the crack down of child sacrifice in Uganda.
Afande Binoga Moses tried to elaborate how the Government has tried to curb down this life threatening crime and thanked Pastor Isaac of Kyampisi for starting this campaign and promised a continued relationship between him and the Government.
