Your locks could be rendered all but useless if your keys get out of sight for just a minute. And the would-be thief doesn’t need to be a master lockpick: all he needs is an iPhone.Wired reporter Andy Greenberg recently demonstrated how an app designed to make it easy to get duplicates of your keys can be used to copy someone else’s keys in just a few seconds. The app, KeyMe, uses the phone’s camera to scan the keys and save them to your digital keychain. From there, you can get the keys made at one of their self-service kiosks. Keys have never been the best form of security, but with technology like this around, you might want to think twice before handing your set over to someone else. Be sure to check out the full article over at Wired for more.
