Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens in Glasgow for the commonwealth games is set for action today afternoon after being seeded with Australia, England and Sri Lanka in the same group for the preliminary round. The team will open up with Australia, the 2010 silver medalists in India. They will later face England at 8:24pm and will close the night with Sri Lanka with all the three games set to be played at TIBROX Stadium.
Much as all these could be strong opponents, they are however no new faces to the team having faced the same opponents in 2010 in India. Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens however lost 33-0 to Australia, and 55-0 England before winning against Sri Lanka 35-15.
Team officials Tolbert Onyango, assistant coach Yayiro Kasasa and their colleagues say that they had their lesson learnt four years ago in Delhi in 2010 in India and are now more prepared to take on their opponents.
Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens need to win at least two games if they are to qualify for the next stage.
Australia vs Uganda at 3:12pm
England vs Uganda at 8:24pm
Sri Lanka vs Uganda at 10:42pm
All games live on SS7.
