Three months ago Ugandan music fans were thrilled with the good news about the possible unplugged show at Club Silk that would have Uganda’s top star, Doctor Jose Chameleone perform at the Industrial area based hangout. This was followed up with huge preparations by both the fans and the music icon himself to make sure the day would be a success.
At around 10:15pm yesterday, music Doctor Chameleone arrived at the night spot in his brand new Range Rover sport, clad in a red craft attire (kitenge), in company of other top cream musicians. The show started off with the upcoming artistes who included; Dennis Lama, T1, Melody, Vidiobrown and other established musicians like Ziza Bafana, Professor Big Eye, Papa Cidy who entertained the fans as they eagerly waited for their music icon.
At 11:30pm, Chameleone stepped on stage and performed his songs with the fans making their own selection for over two hours.
The venue was filled to capacity, fans were on their feet and everything seemed lovable. At one point as Chameleone performed, he took a moment and called on Radio and Weasel who were in the house to share the spotlight with him.
The three sang together and went on to clear up all the issues they had had in the past and as they hugged, some section of the fans became emotional. He also thanked his sponsors “Club Beer” and Team Chameleone for always standing by his side and making sure everything happens as planned.
“Chameleone is a great performer, and he did not disappoint. I will continue supporting him even if he chooses to retire in future, his music will still live on,” one fan was overheard saying.
It was a great show and a happy night!
