The Rising Star Awards were officially launched recently at a star studded event held at club Venom. The event was attended notably by influencers in the entertainment industry including TV personalities and several artistes. Akay and Pallaso of the newly rebranded #Team No Sleep crew under the stewardship of Jeff Kiwa, Dan Flavour, and Buggie Empire Crew were some of the singers that turned up for the launch.
The event that was hosted by NTV’s Xpozed show host and celebrated emcee Mc Kats was spiced up by performances from various artistes.
The official nominees list will be released in July and later the awarding ceremony held in September at a venue that is yet to be communicated.
Meanwhile, activation shows will be held in several universities where revelers will be poised to win several goodies including smartphones, a date with their favorite artiste among others.
Rising Star Awards (RSA) was founded in 2010 with the principal purpose of advancing the arts, entertainment, and corporate industry in Uganda.
