What happens when you use your GoPro camera to film yourself feeding monkeys? One steals it, of course, and runs off into the woods to take selfies.
YouTube user Mochilao.TV learned this the hard way while on a trip to Bali’s Uluwatu Temple.
He decided to feed the famously thieving creatures and instead of gunning for his treats, one monkey went straight for the $400 camera.
‘In a matter of second my camera was robbed by the little monkey,’ writes Mochilao.TV.
The footage suddenly becomes a lot more action packed as the monkey takes off into the leafy jungle with his loot.
When the action stops, the monkey’s ornery face appears.
Several selfies later, the curios little guy deftly opens the GoPro’s protective case.
‘I was shocked when he managed to open the GoPro case and even removed the battery,’ Mochilao.TV writes with the YouTube video.
With no power, the footage stops there, of course. But the monkeying around continued.
‘After few minutes of panic a sweet lady who works in the temple made a “deal” with Mr. Monkey and trade my camera for some fruits,’ writes Mochilao. ‘I lost the battery but got this awesome and unexpected video.’
