Veteran artist and music producer Viboyo has described Jose Chameleone as one of Uganda’s greatest artists, placing him among the top five musicians in the country’s music industry.
According to Viboyo, although Chameleone may not necessarily be Uganda’s greatest artist, his contribution to the industry earns him a place among the country’s leading musicians.
“Chameleone is one of Uganda’s greatest artists, in the top five,” he said.
Viboyo also shared one of his fondest memories with Chameleone, recalling the days when the two musicians had both tinted their hair as they pursued their music careers.
He narrated how Chameleone had just returned from Nairobi with tinted hair, a look Viboyo had also adopted at the time.
“I have so many memories with Chameleone. He came back from Nairobi with tinted hair, and I had also tinted mine. I told him I’m number one, and he said if I am number one, he’s Uganda’s greatest,” Viboyo recalled.
He noted that the exchange happened early in their careers, before either of them knew what the future held for them in the music industry.
