Socialite and businesswoman Judith Heard has cautioned young girls against blindly admiring the flashy lifestyles they see online, particularly those portrayed by so-called slay queens in Kampala.
Speaking from a place of experience, Judith—who says she has since reformed from the party lifestyle that once defined her—questioned the long-term value of the lives many girls idolize on social media.
She challenged young women to look beyond designer outfits, luxury apartments, and nightlife photos, and instead ask deeper questions about stability and legacy.
“I want you to tell me, all of you young girls admiring the life of slay queens, how many of these girls that you admire have buildings in Kampala? How many of these girls have their own homes?” Judith asked. She added that many of the lifestyles being copied are temporary, pointing out that most of these women live in rented apartments, have no children, and lack long-term investments.
Judith urged girls not to copy a lifestyle that may not align with their own future goals. According to her, chasing trends and online validation often leads nowhere meaningful. “You want to copy that same lifestyle? That’s not for you,” she warned.
Emphasizing the need for clarity and purpose, Judith encouraged young women to think differently about their lives and focus on building something lasting. “It’s 2026, there’s no more room for confusion because you need to open your eyes,” she said. “You’re admiring the fake life.”
