Seth Murari has become a household name in Mbarara City, especially among the youth who form the majority of the voting population.
His unwavering support for sports and youth empowerment has made him a symbol of inspiration, transformation, and hope for a better Mbarara.
Murari’s interest in the Mayorship of Mbarara City is being welcomed as a long-overdue opportunity by many young people to give back to a man who has consistently championed their causes.
His active presence in sports development through tournaments across various disciplines has not only energized youth in the region but has also built strong community bonds. Even without holding any political office, Seth Murari has already made a lasting impact. On social media, in the streets of Mbarara City, and among respected figures, his name resonates as a beacon of vision and happiness. His work has brought joy and transformation to many lives, setting him apart from traditional politicians.
Having previously held a key position in the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), seen as a critical pillar of the NRM Party, Murari did more than just fulfill his duties.
He actively engaged and reconnected disillusioned Kampala youths with the ruling party and extended his outreach to Mbarara through initiatives that focused on youth empowerment. As a successful entrepreneur, Murari consistently delivers messages of transformation, urging the youth to strive for success. His unique approach sharing wealth-building knowledge rather than hoarding it has earned him respect and admiration.
Unlike many politicians who focus on personal gain, Murari is seen as someone who uplifts others alongside his own progress. His influence on social media is notable, with numerous youths publicly calling on him to take up the city’s leadership even before he officially declared his candidacy.
Agatie7, a prominent voice on X, expressed her admiration: “Mbarara deserves a leader who listens, inspires, and delivers. Seth Murari is the voice of our city, and his vision for a better Mbarara is contagious!”
Theo Barham, reflecting on the successful Mbarara City Rally earlier this year, praised Murari’s leadership.
“Why Seth Murari is the Right Choice for Mbarara City Mayor. Seth Murari has already proven he’s a true leader. His work with the Mbarara City Rally shows he knows how to bring people together and create impact. He listens, plans, and acts. He supports youth, builds the local economy, and puts community first.
Now, imagine what he can do as Mayor.
@SethMurari is ready to serve and build a better, brighter Mbarara for all,” he said.
Murari’s environmental initiatives are equally lauded. He is widely associated with River Rwizi, remembered for his dedication to conservation through the highly impactful “Save River Rwizi Run”, a 2024 campaign that attracted thousands and brought much-needed awareness to environmental protection.
Unlike many political aspirants who struggle to attract youth support, Murari is being naturally endorsed across different groups.
One such endorsement came from the Mbarara Youth Development Association SACCO, showing the broad base of his appeal.
Perhaps the most telling sign of his popularity is how deeply he is loved without any inducements. His relationship with the people, especially youth and women, is rooted in genuine connection. This was clearly seen when boda boda riders in Mbarara rallied to express their love and respect for him.
Murari’s support for women and young girls, especially through empowerment campaigns and messages encouraging transformation, makes him stand out as a leader who listens and acts for everyone.
Faith Abigaba1, another youth voice on X, summed up this sentiment perfectly.
“As the youth, we need a leader who thinks about us because we are the future and that’s why we endorse.”
With such broad-based, authentic support from the grassroots especially from the youth, women, and entrepreneurs Seth Murari is no longer just a candidate; he is a movement.
His vision for Mbarara is not just inspiring it is contagious, and it is bringing the city together around a shared hope for a brighter future.
